Complete remission of high-gr sarcoma with oral trofosfamide

Post by Olga »

An abstract of the new interesting article from Germany is published on the PubMed - they report a case from their clinic, in which a complete response with oral trofosfamide was achieved in a patient suffering from relapsed high-grade angiosarcoma metastasizing to the liver and lung.
this is the link:
Complete remission of relapsing high-grade angiosarcoma with single-agent metronomic trofosfamide
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/quer ... med_docsum
They also say:
Trofosfamide is an oral drug from the same group as well known in US Ifosfamide is, but it is used in a metronomic schedule - frequently administrated at the low-dose, opposite to the Ifosfamide administrated at the MTD (maximum tolerated dose).

The patient experienced minimal side-effects from her trofosfamide treatment. Responses like this are encouraging and should make us rethink treatment approaches for metastasizing soft-tissue sarcoma
