RAD001 / Everolimus / Afinitor - Now FDA-Approved

Post by Fictional »

I was just checking into updates re: drugs that might be FDA-approved (and so more freely available) and saw that Everolimus or RAD001 - now known as Afinitor is now approved by the FDA and so available for use off-label by any oncologist. It is an oral drug.

We do not know whether it is effective in ASPS, but some of the signal transductions studies suggest it might be effective.

It is FDA-approved for sunitinib- or sorafenib-resistant renal cancer.
